A new adventure began today as we traveled from Umbria to Tuscany and met up with our friends, Bonnie, Emily and Lisa.
Betsy and I rode by private transfer to Chiusi and picked up the car rental, a smallish Audi SUV. Our luggage barely fit in the back so we knew we couldn’t pack our friends and their luggage inside. Cars here max out at at 5 passengers and two suitcases. Fortunately, the villa was nearby, and I had arranged to drop our luggage before check-in.
The girls arrived at the train station by private driver from Rome just a few minutes after we got parked. Betsy and I drove all the luggage to the villa while they waited at a restaurant.
The villa is so beautiful. Our host toured us around, showed us how things worked and handed us the keys. The gardener was onsite and he carried all the luggage upstairs to the bedrooms. We went back to the train station and collected our friends and then off to the grocery store to pick up lots of wine and other necessities.
They were exhausted from the overnight flight, so last night was just sharing a few cocktails, cooking some hamburgers and then off to bed.
Tomorrow, the adventure begins.
